NCC ReUnion Photos

July 31, 1995
Dear NCC '95 participants,
Very warm greetings to everybody! As NCC'95 is drawing near, I would like to underline several features of this conference which make it a very special and unique event.
Firstly, there will a number of "veterans" also going to this conference, bringing with them very rich and diverse experiences in the student ministry. (As far as I know, they are just as much looking forward to NCC '95 as the students, if not more!) To name a few: Drs. Andrew Wong and Pui Wing Wong from Waterloo, Dr. Clement Yeung from Winnipeg, Dr. Keith Chan from HK (originally from Waterloo), Dr. Stephen Lee from HK, Dr. Edward Ng from Ottawa (originally from London, Ontario) and Rev. James Leung from Toronto (originally from HK). And of course, also Rev. Stephen Knights, the former CIM missionary to China and Founding Director of AFC, Canada.

Despite their vast spans in age and background, these people have one thing in common: they all share an ongoing vision and zeal for student ministry. I suggest that one interest part of NCC '95 would be to seek these people out and share their reasons for excitement.

Secondly, this is one of those few opportunities of meeting face to face, with fellow students from all over Canada. How wonderful it is to feel in such a tangible way, God's work in the CCF's across the country and to lay down the network for good communications in the future.

Thirdly, this would also be a time for the English- and Cantonese- speaking Chinese students to meet together and practise "cross-cultural" interaction and support. I for one, am convinced that developments in this direction will bring about a new and significant impact of the student ministry in the Canadian campuses (and even the world!)

Lastly, it may be mentioned that there will a few high-school students going to this conference. They may also add to the fun and richness of this event. Do take the time to talk to them in the conference if your paths happen to cross.
I think I shall miss you all.

For such a time like this...

"For such a time as this ......" The purpose of NCC'95 is to gather Christian students across Canada, to seek God's guidance, humbly, to re-discover our unique role on campus, in society, and to take up the responsibility of global mission in the twenty-five century. While our different campuses are unique from each other, our mission of evangelism is the same and would benefit greatly from the diversity of experiences available from the conferees. Perhaps more importantly, we recognize that our years in university/college provide a great training ground for our future service to our generation. Hence, in the conference, we look forward to a wonderful fellowship, and to our role as Christians in the twenty-first century.

Our History- from NCC website

In the 60's, God has raised up a group of brothers and sisters in Winnipeg to establish Chinese Christian Fellowship (CCF) on campus to serve Christian students and spread the gospel. God has indeed blessed the student ministry in Canada until now. In the late 80's, God has revived the hearts of brothers and sisters across Canada for campus mission. The number of Chinese Christian Fellowships has grown dramatically among universities, colleges and high school campuses. Although CCF ministry sprang up in different universities, all CCFers share the same vision, that is to reach our fellow students with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

As a consequence, inter-college and even inter-provincial CCF meetings have been administered in the 90's. Such meetings include the
Western Canada CCF Retreat'92 held in May 1992 at Calgary and the National CCF Retreat'93 held in August 1993 in Ontario. Christian student leaders from all across Canada met and shared the campus vision, developed mutual support, and look corporate action. During the Western Canada CCF Retreat'94 held in Calgary, students from Western Canada and Ontario have constituted a committee which consists of representatives from different provinces to organize the 1st Canadian Chinese Student Conference on Campus Evangelism (also known as The National Campus Challenge'95 or NCC'95). It was through exploring and praying that the NCC'95 was organized.

FES office, Stephen and Yuen Man / Hougton / Nick / Jeff / Raymond / 與我Tommy, 集齊全國各省代表, 開了一次極有意義的Reunion.
